Nature is not part of pure consciousness. It is only there for the apprehending and exists outside of consciousness. Through the cogito it reveals itself as a system of causality that intends being and purpose not as an essence or an absolute but, as a ground on which consciousness experiences for itself its own experience. At the same time, consciousness transcends nature and remains distant from it while it seeks its own cause as a being in the world. Through this transcendence, consciousness and being become grounded in the “un-real” while driven into the depths of reflection, poised to become the true and the real.
