The Incidental Corridor No.412

An example of natural movement would be thought leading to idea. It could only be through this progression that ideas emerge. They cannot fall from the sky or exist wholly outside the senses in some non-temporal domain waiting for discovery. Thought itself, leading from consciousness to self-consciousness, is a progression that has no beginning, no a priori aspect to it, since thought cannot exist without consciousness of itself. Hence, an idea produced is equal to an idea of an idea. It is a phase of thought that self-administers; a mediated experience of the cogito, which is strictly within itself and can only be discovered and brought forward by the particular consciousness that survives within it. Through expression, linked with a primordial wish, an idea forms to begin its life whether it bear the lingering fruit of its contents or wither and fall from the vine before it has actually taken hold.
