The being of the self is not-being. It is that mode which subordinates itself to an existence absent of spirit and wholly entrenched in temporality. It is the immediacy of subjection and acquiescence; an altering and classifying; a movement emerging from the depths of pre-individuality and pre-determinateness, into an all-consuming sphere of a rigidly constructed time and space where objects become manifolds of existence and forces come to life within their narrow halls of sensuality and perception. Conceptual being is for-itself, and through its becoming, searches for that which it is not so it may find what it already is; what it needs to find in-itself through its own ideas and concepts so that the desire which guides it can fall into place as the desire which it eternally seeks.
