Within the corridor we are our own cause and our own intent. We have originality in purpose and our struggles express our self-conscious “coloring,” e.g. our talents, our notions and our reasoning, which imply the universal upon our individuality reflected back into the universal. There is an implication which is always becoming. It is the negation we carry within ourselves, formed by consciousness and its simultaneity with the world. In effect, the corridor is a circle which produces itself from itself and always back to itself. We can never extend beyond its boundaries, and we could never stay within them for a sustainable time, as the cause of our present races past and into the shadow of history. Our purpose becomes the end to our means and ultimately rejects itself at the moment our consciousness becomes lost to being-in-the-world and struggles for the reason to sustain it.
